On Pesach, Bnei Yisrael are liberated from serving Pharaoh, only to dedicate themselves to serving Hashem. How can this shift in servitude be considered true freedom? What does it mean to be a servant of Hashem?
In the first pasuk of this week’s parsha, Moshe tells Bnei Yisrael,”These are the things that Hashem commanded to do.”
However, in the next pasuk, only the prohibitions of Shabbat—what not to do—are mentioned. Why is there no mention of positive actions, only restrictions?
